According to Chinese researchers, cucumbers are helpful for digestion. Cucumbers are high in pectin, a plant fiber that keeps the digestive system moving. The researchers found that increasing pectin intake increased the concentration of healthy strains of gut bugs like bifidobacterium and lactobacillus.
