#12 HEALTHIEST FRUITS - GRAPES

Today's post is about number 12 on the list of healthiest fruits and it is a favorite of many. Grapes are some of the most popular fruits of all ages. No more words are necessary from me so let's get to what the health journal has to say.

"Grapes are high in polyphenol compounds such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, and resveratrol, all of which can help increase heart health and defend against cardiovascular disease. (It's thought that resveratrol may even help prevent skin aging and protect against age-related health conditions.) Grapes are full of nutrients vital to health, such as copper, vitamin K, and B vitamins."

FOODS WITH RESVERATROL CAN HELP FIGHT CANCER

Red grapes are probably the best-known foods that contain resveratrol although it is also found in peanuts, cranberries, and blueberries. Resveratrol is known to inhibit cancer-cell growth and to cause cancer cells to self-destruct. Resveratrol, according to recent findings, remains effective and maybe even more powerful after it has been metabolized by the body. Give yourself some tasty cancer protection by enjoying some red grapes, blueberries, cranberries, and peanuts. Surely there is at least one of those you enjoy eating!

GRAPES FOR HAPPINESS

This post is about purple or red grapes. Green grapes are not a part of this post.

A British study found that a heaping cup of red or purple grapes could heighten your happiness in approximately 20 minutes. Having a 'down' day? Grab some grapes, eat a cup of them and see if your mood improves. The researchers say it is a compound called resveratrol which gives the grapes their dark color that gets the credit. This is the reason green grapes are not included. Resveratrol energizes the region of the brain known as the hippocampus that steadies moods and keeps the nervous system calm.
