Since we are basically a week from Halloween, here's another reminder of some benefits of chocolate. Are you one who loves to sneak a little chocolate from the youngster treat bags? There are other posts on this blog about the benefits of chocolate, should you want to know more. Here are a few new mentions:
- The antioxidants in cocoa powder renew skin cells to soften rough patches, while its fatty acids moisturize. How about a chocolate bath? Stir 1/4 cup cocoa powder into 1 cup full fat milk, then pour into bathwater. Soak in the tub for 10 minutes.
- The Journal of Nutrition found eating 1-ounce of dark chocolate daily increases skin's wrinkle plumping hydration levels by 28% in 12 weeks. They say the thanks goes to cocoa's flavanols. The flavanols replenish moisture and spur new collagen production.
