DO YOU NEED FRIENDS AT WORK?

In a recent survey, 20% of the adults in the United States say they have a best friend at work. Do you think this is a good idea or that your best friend should be outside your co-workers? Catherine Heaney, associate professor of psychology at Stanford University, says there is no doubt social support in the workplace is important for health and well-being. She believes that while that support can come from a best friend, it could also come from supervisors and just friendly acquaintances. Having friends in the workplace boosts job satisfaction and performance. Opposite that, research clearly indicates loneliness is bad for your health.
